Tags

Dataset and table labels plus inherited Resource Manager tags, used to slice spend and ownership.

The tags page is the catalog of labels you already put on BigQuery datasets and tables, plus inherited Resource Manager tags when optional IAM is granted.

Why it matters

Cost reviews usually start from team:, env:, or service: labels. SlashPeak does not invent a new taxonomy. It reads yours.

Resource Manager tags

Grant resourcemanager.hierarchyNodes.listEffectiveTags (optional custom role) if you use org tags. Project tagBindings.list is the wrong permission and is not requested.

If tags are empty, you can still filter usage by BigQuery labels that exist on jobs and tables.

Spend by label

When jobs carry labels, usage and dashboard slices can group by those keys. Unlabeled spend is its own bucket — that gap is often the first governance finding, even before a SQL rule fires.
