Pricing FAQ
Answers to common pricing questions: plans, the free 30-day trial, billing, limits, and what happens when you upgrade or cancel.
These are the same answers as on the Pricing page.
How does the 30-day trial work?
After signup, you choose: the free 30-day trial or a paid plan. The trial needs no credit card. Our team approves each trial request, and the 30 days start on approval. The trial has 1 seat: you, as the owner. Teammates from your company who sign up during the trial wait for access until the account upgrades. The trial includes slot and reservation right-sizing. The trial has no AI: Cognis AI and the AI query optimizer start on Starter. On day 25 we email you to choose a plan. You pay with a card when you choose one, not before.
Do Starter, Growth and Pro have a free trial?
No. Paid plans have no trial. Their features start the moment you pay. Choose Starter, Growth or Pro right after signup, in the first setup step. Or start the free 30-day trial and choose a plan later in Settings → Billing, on any day of the trial or after it ends.
What do 1x, 2.5x and 5x AI usage mean?
Each plan has a monthly AI usage allowance. Cognis AI chat, the AI query optimizer and Cognis AI DBA all use it. Starter has 1x. Growth has 2.5x as much as Starter, and Pro has 5x. Enterprise usage is set in your contract. A long question or a big fix uses more than a short one. Settings → Billing shows how much you used this month. The allowance resets each month on your billing date. If it runs out before then, AI pauses until the reset. Scans, findings, alerts and dashboards keep working.
What happens when the trial ends?
On day 31 scans stop and the app turns read-only. You can still see the total savings we found. Your data is kept for 30 more days, then deleted. Choose a plan at any time to switch scans back on.
What happens if I change plans in the middle of a month or year?
An upgrade starts at once. The unused part of your current plan counts as credit, a new billing period starts that day, and you pay the new price less that credit. A switch from monthly to yearly also starts at once, and the unused part of the month counts as credit. A downgrade, or a switch from yearly to monthly, starts when your current period ends, and you keep your plan until then. Your team must fit in the new plan's seats before you downgrade. After a downgrade, history older than the new plan's window is deleted. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the period ends. We do not refund the days left.
Which plan fits my spend?
We look at your BigQuery compute and storage cost for each full calendar month. Starter, Growth and Pro all cover spend up to $50k/month, so you pick one by the features and limits you need. Enterprise is for spend above $50k/month. The band is soft. We never cut off your data. If you stay above $50k for two months in a row, we ask you to move to Enterprise.
How far back does a scan look?
Trial, Starter and Growth scan 30 days of job history, Pro 60 days, and Enterprise 90 days. Dashboard charts go back the same number of days.
What is a seat? What is the difference between an owner and a viewer?
A seat is one team member with access: an owner or a viewer. You pick the mix. Owners can change things: connections, rules, alerts and settings. Viewers can only look. Starter has 2 seats, Growth 8, Pro 25, and Enterprise is unlimited. The trial has 1 seat: you, as the owner.
What's the difference between Starter and Growth?
Growth has 8 seats and scans every 3 hours. It adds 2.5x the AI usage, Cognis AI DBA with GitHub pull requests, dbt fix pull requests, daily report emails, a REST API key and a full org audit log.
What's the difference between Growth and Pro?
Growth is for one team, with 8 seats. Pro is for many teams, with 25 seats. Pro has hourly scans, 60-day history, slot and reservation right-sizing, 5 API keys, twice the Growth AI usage, and higher AI DBA limits.
What do I get for dbt on each plan?
Every plan, trial included, shows your dbt costs: job comments, manifest upload, dbt Cloud daily sync, the model graph and 7 dbt findings. Fixing dbt models with AI DBA pull requests and the dbt Cloud CI run needs Growth, Pro or Enterprise. Growth allows 3 fix pull requests open at once and 2 GitHub repos. Pro allows 10 open at once and 10 repos. Enterprise allows 20 open at once and 25 repos.
How is Enterprise priced?
Enterprise includes everything in Pro, unlimited seats, a custom scan schedule, custom AI usage, up to 10 API keys with no daily call cap, a support SLA, and a dedicated Slack channel with an account manager. It is priced on the basis of % spend, on a yearly contract. Scope is set on a demo.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. In Settings → Billing, click Change plan to see every plan. An upgrade starts at once. A downgrade starts when your current period ends. The free trial is offered once, at signup, and not again after you pay. Enterprise still starts with a conversation with the demo team.
What is the % based on?
The lower of SlashPeak's own cost estimate and your actual GCP bill, never the higher of the two. The actual bill comes from an optional FOCUS billing export you connect — without it, only the estimate is available.
